Prohibited & Restricted Items
Last updated: 15 July 2026
To keep our riders, drivers, other customers and your package safe — and to stay within the law — some items cannot be sent through Nomad Logistic Solutions. What we can carry depends on how far the package is travelling. Please read the list that matches your delivery before booking.
1. Never accepted — on any delivery
These items are prohibited on every service — local, interstate and international — because they are illegal, dangerous, or against our carrier and insurance rules:
- Illegal drugs and narcotics — cocaine, heroin, cannabis (Indian hemp), methamphetamine, and unprescribed tramadol, codeine or other controlled medicines
- Firearms, ammunition, gunpowder, dynamite, other explosives, fireworks and bangers, and firearm parts
- Fuels and pressurised gases — petrol, diesel, kerosene, cooking gas cylinders, camping gas, and lighter fluid
- Corrosive, toxic and radioactive substances — industrial acids, mercury, pesticides, and radioactive material
- Counterfeit money, fake or pirated goods, and stolen property
- Human remains, body parts, blood and other bodily fluids
- Live animals and insects — including reptiles, birds and fish (unless arranged in advance as a special service)
- Endangered wildlife and their products — elephant ivory, pangolin scales, rhino horn, and skins of protected species
- Obscene or indecent material — child sexual abuse material is illegal and reported to the Police
- Any item that is illegal to own, sell or move under Nigerian law
2. Local deliveries (within Lagos)
Our same-day riders travel by motorcycle and van. In addition to the "never accepted" list above, the following cannot go by local delivery:
- Paint, thinner, bleach and other corrosive or flammable liquids
- Aerosols and spray cans — deodorant, insecticide, spray paint
- Loose cash above ₦50,000, and unpackaged gold, jewellery or valuables worth more than ₦50,000 (unless declared and insured before pickup)
- Knives, machetes, cutlasses and hand tools that are not safely boxed
- Cooked food, raw meat and fish that are not sealed and properly packaged
- Glassware, ceramics and other fragile items packed without protective wrapping (ask us about packaging)
3. Interstate deliveries (between states)
For long-haul road deliveries across Nigeria, everything in sections 1 and 2 applies, plus:
- Alcohol and cigarettes in commercial (resale) quantity — some states restrict or ban these, so quantities may be limited or refused
- Bushmeat and fresh farm produce under quarantine or movement restriction
- Petrol, diesel, engine oil and industrial chemicals in any quantity
- Phones, laptops and other electronics in commercial quantity without a receipt or proof of ownership
- Cash — we do not carry cash interstate; please use a bank transfer
- Prescription medicines in commercial quantity without a pharmacy licence
4. International deliveries (outbound from Nigeria)
International shipments must clear Nigerian customs, the airline's dangerous-goods rules, and the customs rules of the destination country. Everything in sections 1–3 applies, plus the items below. Restrictions vary by destination and carrier — always confirm with us for your specific country.
- Lithium batteries and devices that contain them — power banks, laptops, phones — plus strong magnets and dry ice, unless booked as approved dangerous goods
- Aerosols, perfumes, deodorant sprays, nail polish and alcohol-based liquids (flammable — restricted on air freight)
- Food, seeds, plants, soil and animal products without the required health or phytosanitary certificate — many countries ban these outright
- Gold, silver, uncut diamonds and other precious metals and stones
- Cash and cheques above the amount you are allowed to declare to customs
- Prescription and pharmacy medicines without a doctor's letter or prescription
- Antiques, cultural artefacts and items of national heritage (export is restricted)
- Alcohol and tobacco above the destination country's duty-free allowance
- Any item that the destination country's customs prohibits or restricts
5. Declaring high-value items
Items that are allowed but valuable — electronics, phones, jewellery, documents — must be declared at booking and may require additional insurance. Our standard liability limit is the lesser of the declared value or ₦50,000 per package; see our Liability Disclaimer for full details.
6. What happens if a prohibited item is found
- At pickup, our rider may refuse the package.
- If discovered in transit, the delivery is stopped and the item may be returned, held, or handed to the relevant authorities.
- Prohibited-item bookings are not refundable, and a return or handling fee may apply.
- Where an item is illegal, we are obliged to cooperate with law enforcement.
